ENVIRON presents at IEMA Annual Conference

Jamie O'Hare and Howard Stimpson of ENVIRON's WEEE, RoHS, and EcoDesign practice presented a workshop on Designing for Environmental Performance at the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) Annual Conference, held in June 2006 in Droitwich, UK.

Jamie O'Hare and Howard Stimpson of ENVIRON's WEEE, RoHS, and EcoDesign practice presented a workshop on Designing for Environmental Performance at the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) Annual Conference, held in June 2006 in Droitwich, UK.

Howard explained how taking a web-based pan-European approach to individual producer responsibility (IPR) for compliance with the EC WEEE Directive can enable companies to gain direct financial benefits from integrating design for recycling techniques into new product design.

In the second part of the workshop, Jamie led a practical exercise where groups of delegates disassemble typical consumer products and identify potential EcoDesign improvements.
