Electro-Medical Devices Conference

Dr Turnbull examined new EcoDesign requirements for medical electrical equipment arising from the EuP Directive and the new International Standard IEC 60601-1-9: Requirements for Environmentally Conscious Design.

Electro-Medical Devices are an important and expanding market within the medical device industry. Keeping up to date with complex and changing regulations for electro-medical devices is time-consuming and requires specialist expertise. To help address this challenge, Informa Life Sciences held a three-day conference covering all aspects of the regulations. Attendees heard from leading industry experts including:

Dr Turnbull’s presentation on Tuesday 18th September helped understanding of the impact of the WEEE, RoHS, Batteries and EuP Directive on medical electrical devices. In a post-conference symposium on Thursday 20 September, Dr Turnbull examined new eco-design requirements for medical electrical equipment arising from the EuP Directive and the new International Standard IEC 60601-1-9: Requirements for Environmentally Conscious Design.
