EcoDesign clubs

There are several web-based environmental regulatory tracking services available on the market. But ENVIRON’s Environmental Design and Compliance Clubs are the only web-based services which:

  • Provide an auditable system based on checklists and worksheets that the product design team completes to address environmental design and product regulatory compliance requirements at each stage in the New Product Design process. For example, ensuring that product environmental regulatory requirements for the EU, Asia Pacific and US markets (RoHS, WEEE, REACH, EuP, Batteries, Packaging, etc) are captured in the initial planning stage and managed through detailed design to verification/validation
  • Complies with the draft International Standard IEC 62430: Environmentally Conscious Design of Electrical and Electronic Products and Systems
  • Provides structured training workshops and webinars to guide product design teams through the web-based system, illustrated by worked examples, so that logging into the web-based system becomes an integral part of the New Product Design process
  • Provides environmental design guidance and information tailored to support each aspect of the product life cycle (e.g. materials selection, mechanical design, electronic and electrical design, packaging, use, end-of-life, etc)
  • Consults its members and the trade associations to find out your issues and provide the tools, guidance and advice you need. We want your comments and suggestions so that we can continue to deliver the best services to all our member companies
  • Carries out targeted research on behalf of its members. For example, finding out chemicals suppliers who are committed to REACH registration and authorisation for substances you are concerned about (e.g. DEHP)

The web-based system complies with the draft International Standard IEC 62430: Environmentally Conscious Design of Electrical and Electronic Products and Systems, which is the overarching standard that all sector-specific EcoDesign standards should follow.
